On February 28th, students from across the region of Waterloo will come together to participate in WCDSB’s Faith in Action Skills Challenge at Conestoga College. Teams from various schools will be chosen to participate in Lego Mechanics, Lego Robotics, Coding, 3D Printing, Video Editing and Construction. The goal of this year is for our students to come up with innovative ways for children to help other children/people in our community.

We are looking for volunteers who feel they may have expertise in one of the following areas;

No Poverty, Good Health and Well Being, Clean Water and Sanitation/Life Below Water, Affordable and Clean Energy, Life on Land. Specifically, it would be helpful to have some knowledge of how these issues affect our region.

We are looking for volunteers to circulate on the challenge floor at any time on February 29th. They will be asked to listen to the student’s innovative ideas and provide feedback. This may include new learning you can add or specific questions you may have about their prototype or ideas.

Our day runs from 8:30am-2:30pm with lunch from 11:30am-12:00pm and closing ceremonies from 2:30pm-3:00pm. We are not asking you commit the whole day but whatever time you may be able to give at any point during this day.

Please follow the link in the below Google Form if you are interested in volunteering by February 8th.

If you know of anyone who may be interested, please feel free to forward this link on. If you have any questions, please feel free to email whitney.mckinley@wcdsb.ca.

Thank you,
